DBT is a proven therapeutic approach that combines cognitive-behavioral techniques designed to change behavior with mindfulness practice designed to promote focus and sense of self. Clients will learn and practice skills to better identify and manage their emotions, control their impulses, handle difficult life events, improve their ability to interact effectively with others and gain greater ability to make positive rather than self-destructive choices in their lives.

WHAT DOES DBT LOOK LIKE?

SK I LL S T R A I N I N G

This is a weekly course that provides a group
environment in which clients learn and practice
specific coping skills for everyday use. The skills
help clients change cognitive, emotional, and
behavioral patterns that have previously caused
them distress. Skills training is intended to
supplement, not replace, individual therapy.

Phone coaching is a valuable opportunity for the clients

to receive “in the moment” help from the therapist to

generalize skills learned in group to everyday life.  Access

to the therapist in between sessions is an integral part
of successful DBT.

D B T  TEAM

Our team of therapists meet regularly to provide consultation,

education and support to each other.  This enables our

individual therapists to enhance our DBT skills and maintain

our dialectical perspective with our clients.
